Strengthening School Safety Through Teacher Capacity Development in Tarakeshwor

On 9–10 July 2026, DEPO conducted a two-day Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Education Training for 23 teachers from Shree Purano Guheswori Secondary School (SPGS) in Tarakeshwor. The program aimed to strengthen teachers' capacity to integrate disaster preparedness into everyday teaching and school life.

The training combined disaster drills, first aid demonstrations, facilitation practice, and school-based disaster preparedness simulations. Teachers also used participatory tools, including the Emergency Kit Quiz Game, Shuffle Card Game, and Earthquake Awareness Picture Story, to build a practical understanding of disaster-related concepts.

The training provided teachers with participatory learning tools and practical methods that they can apply in their classrooms to extend DRR education within the school environment.
