Disaster Education Promotion Office (DEPO)

The Mitra DRR Learning Center (MDRRLC) offers structured group visits for students, teachers, and community members, providing a hands-on learning environment for disaster risk reduction and preparedness. The center includes an orientation room, a disaster history room focused on Nepal, and an interactive exhibit space where visitors engage in games and simulation-based activities adapted from Japanese practices and localized to Nepal’s context.

Through guided visits, participants learn practical disaster prevention and response skills, including approaches inspired by Japan’s “Bosai” practices that are relevant to local settings. MDRRLC serves as a resource hub for experiential learning, enabling visitors to better understand risks, preparedness measures, and community-level actions. It continues to support schools and communities by promoting awareness, strengthening practical knowledge, and encouraging active engagement in disaster resilience.
