Disaster Education Promotion Office (DEPO)

DEPO facilitates DRR educational game development workshops for schools and community-based organizations, supporting the creation of context-specific learning tools for students. These workshops bring together teachers, students, and practitioners, with guidance from thematic experts who support the design and refinement of game concepts. The process includes co-creation, testing, and validation to ensure that the games are practical, engaging, and aligned with local risk contexts.

In addition, DEPO is authorized to replicate the knowledge dissemination approach of NPO Plus Arts, using educational materials and concepts developed from their experience following the Great Hanshin Awaji Earthquake. These games have been developed and adapted in the context of Nepal through a JICA-funded project implemented by Plus Arts. Grounded in the principles of self-help, mutual help, and public help, they support effective and locally relevant disaster preparedness learning at school and community levels.
