Disaster Education Promotion Office (DEPO)
On April 2026, a four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Education was conducted in Tansen Municipality, Palpa, with teachers from 31 schools participating.
The training equips teachers with practical skills to integrate localized DRR education into classroom learning using interactive educational game materials. As master trainers, participants will transfer their knowledge to students in their respective schools, fostering a culture of disaster preparedness and resilience at the grassroots level.
This initiative is part of our ongoing partnership with Tansen Municipality to establish School-Based Disaster Risk Reduction Resource Centers (SBDRRCs). The project is implemented in collaboration with CityNet, Plus Arts Center for Creative Partnership, Kobe, Japan, and DEPO Nepal.
By investing in teachers, this initiative creates a sustainable pathway for strengthening disaster resilience in schools and empowering the next generation with life-saving knowledge and skills.
