Deepak Marahatta is a dedicated development professional with over a decade of experience in disaster risk reduction (DRR) education, climate change adaptation (CCA), circular economy, environmental education, research, and monitoring & evaluation (M&E). As the Founder and Chairperson of the Disaster Education Promotion Office (DEPO) Nepal, he has been at the forefront of advancing disaster education, community resilience, and sustainable development.
With extensive experience in project leadership, Deepak has served as the Project Coordinator for the JICA-funded School Club-Based Resilient Community Model Project implemented through INSEC and Director of Global Affairs at the Resilience Youth Network (RYN), USA. He has played a pivotal role in designing educational games, IEC materials, training manuals, and curricula on DRR, CCA, circular economy, and environmental education.
