Community Disaster Preparedness Training

DEPO has been providing community-based disaster preparedness training services to a range of partners and local governments. In 2025, DEPO conducted trainings in Dakshinkali Municipality, Kathmandu, and Mahankal Rural Municipality in collaboration with the China Foundation for Rural Development. In addition, DEPO delivered similar trainings across seven municipalities in Rautahat through the local NGO Mandwi, with funding support from ICIMOD.

These trainings focus on building practical skills and awareness at the community level, using participatory and gamification-based approaches to enhance learning and engagement. Through interactive methods, DEPO supports communities in better understanding local risks and strengthening their capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters.
